R D arrangements finalized at B’pora

BANDIPORA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to finalize the arrangements put in place for celebration of forthcoming Republic Day.

The meeting discussed threadbare arrangements put in place including security, seating arrangement as per Covid protocol, car parking, transportation and illumination of buildings besides refreshments, accommodation, sanitation and other arrangements.

It was given out that special arrangements have been made in view of Covid-19 pandemic to ensure that the SOPs are followed in letter and spirit including use of masks, sanitizers, testing facility at venue, availability of rapid kits and availability  of ambulance and other related arrangements.

The meeting was informed that the national flag will be unfurled by the chief guest followed by the parade comprising the contingents from JKP, CRPF, NCC cadets and other contingents. Concerned departments were directed to make proper arrangements for trouble free rehearsals and final day celebration.

The DDC said that keeping in view the impending weather situation and predictions announced, R&B and Mechanical Engineering departments shall remain in proactive gear and will ensure immediate clearing of roads and spots where the functions are to be organized.

The police department was entrusted with security arrangements and the Information Department was asked to facilitate proper Public Addressing System and media coverage of the event. ARTO was asked to make sufficient arrangements of vehicles and parking at the parade ground.

The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Rahul Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, District officers of various departments, officers of Army and CRPF besides other senior officers.
