DC Anantnag convenes Covid-19 Task Force meeting

ANANTNAG: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, K. K. Siddha, who is also Chairman Covid-19 District Task Force, today convened the first Task Force meeting to sensitize officers of all the line departments to work in mission mode for the possible vaccination of target groups.

The DC directed the concerned officers to plan and execute a comprehensive immunisation strategy on scientific lines along with proper monitoring and follow up in the event of possible introduction of Covid-19 vaccine in near future.

Siddha informed the members that in the first phase high risk groups will be vaccinated that include people above 60 years, all Health workers, police and other emergency services staff, people with Co-morbidities like Diabetes, CHD, cancer etc.

He said for this a comprehensive data base of these groups will be established with active participation of Health, Police, ICDS, Social Welfare and other departments. 

The DC laid out a three pronged strategy viz. proper planning, proper execution and proper monitoring to ensure effective and successful implementation of the immunisation programme. 

He directed the health officials to submit detailed information of the existing logistics, cold chain facilities, vaccinators (both from Govt. and pvt. sector), vaccination points etc. along with the deficiencies where augmentation of the facilities is required.

He also directed them to establish registration centres at Block, Tehsil and subdivision levels for the registration of prospective beneficiaries besides, mobile units with full facilities must be used for vaccination of  specially abled, very senile, etc beneficiaries. 

He stressed upon the officers of line departments to work in close collaboration, map and mobilise their human resource, and engage with PRI, BDC, ULB members, local Auqaf and religious bodies, NGOs, local media groups etc and cut out the tasks at micro levels with meticulous planning and proper division of task with utmost responsibility. 

Among others, the meeting was attended by all the officers of the District Task Force.
