Block Diwas held in 6 CD blocks of Anantnag

ANANTNAG: The District Administration Anantnag today organised a Block Diwas programme under Jan Abhiyan at CD Blocks of Achabal, Shangus, Chitergul and Wandevalgam Kokernag.

The public representatives raised various issues related to irrigation, drinking water, macadamization, establishment of ICDS centres, Sheep and Animal husbandry centres, opening of new Bank branches, installation of ATM machines, issuance of Aadhar cards, Golden health cards, registration of construction labours, Job cards, Domicile certificates, sanction of old age, disability and widow pensions.

Besides desilting of irrigation khuls, construction of protection bunds, approach roads, crossings, power supply, ration, road connectivity, health, education, pending work done liabilities of MGNREGA of 2016-17 and various other community issues. 

District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Kuldeep Krishen  Sidha listened to the public and said that the main aim of conducting Block Diwas is to assess the needs and to aware the general public about various welfare schemes of the government under implementation in the district and stressed upon the people to get benefitted by these schemes.

He directed the concerned officers present in the programme to address the issues and demands raised by people within the stipulated time.

The DDC stressed upon the people for usage of face masks, sanitizers and maintaining social distancing to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the district and appealed the people to go for Covid testing which is compulsory and available at every Tehsil to flatten the curve.

Later DDC distributed domicile certificates, Job Cards and ST certificates among the beneficiaries.

Among others ADC Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, ACR, SDM Kokernag, LDM JK Bank Anantnag, Dy. CMO, DSWO,CHO, CAO, CAHO, Tehsildars, Revenue officers,  AEE’s of PHE, PDD,R&B, PMGSY, BMO’s ,BDO’s , President MC Achabal, Kokernag and other Tehsil officers were present on the occasion.

All the departments had installed registration camps for on spot registration of the beneficiaries under various schemes.

The Block Diwas or Youm e Block was attended by a large number of people, representatives of Auqaaf, BDC chairpersons, Presidents and councilors of MC’s, panches and sarpanches.
