UDHAMPUR: To provide efficient governance at the people’s doorsteps and ensure a robust grievance redressal mechanism at all levels, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai, led a comprehensive public outreach and grievances redressal camp at village Pakhlai in Block Sewna.
During the camp, a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including BDC Chairman Sewna, Subash Chander, DDC member Narsoo, Subash Chander, ADDC Ghan Sham Singh, district officers, and PRIs, alongside general public from the adjoining panchayats came forward to articulate their concerns and demands.
These included requests for filling Urdu teacher positions at GHSS, establishment of a bank branch, creation of a Veterinary center, addressing shortage of veterinary staff, estimation of PWD bridges, maintenance of PDC road from Chenani to Udhampur, progress on MGNREGA projects, construction of boundary walls, repair of OSSU school building, and the construction and black topping of different roads in the area. Additional issues raised encompassed the provision of electricity poles, expediting JJM works, Construction of playfields, ensuring daily matador morning service from Charat to Udhampur, and several other local concerns.
In response to these pressing issues of PRIs and the public, the Deputy Commissioner issued instructions to the relevant officers to prioritize the resolution of these matters.
A significant number of grievances were promptly addressed through direct intervention and guidance to concerned departments. The Deputy Commissioner underscored the critical role of well-maintained roads as the backbone of an area’s development, emphasizing that good roads naturally boost the local economy.
The DC directed officers from various departments to conduct awareness camps in these areas to inform the general public about various government schemes, ensuring that they can access the maximum benefits available.
As part of their outreach program, the administration has successfully organized numerous camps to deliver essential services directly to the people’s doorsteps. The Deputy Commissioner assured PRI members and the general public that the area’s genuine concerns will be resolved on a priority basis.
