Eid-Ul-Adha arrangements finalised at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: To finalize the necessary arrangements in connection with ensuing Eid-Ul-Adha festival, a meeting of concerned District Officers was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib, here in the Conference Hall DC Office Complex.

Detailed discussions were held on various arrangements regarding the celebration of Eid-Ul-Azha, especially the availability of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, adequate supply of ration, quality and market inspection to keep check on rates of eatables, and proper sanitation in the city were discussed in detail.

At the outset, ACR, Viqar Giri presented a welcome address and briefed about the arrangements of Eid-Ul-Adha.

During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to take advance measures for the availability of water supply, First Aid, Fire tenders, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in the district. The DC asked all to follow COVID-19 SOPs while celebrating the festival.

Sheep Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure sufficient availability and inspection of quality of mutton during the festival. Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in the towns.

To keep a check on the rates and quality of the eatables, a team of officers comprising, Assistant Director, CAPD, Tehsildar, Udhampur along with the Food Safety Officer, Legal Metrology Department, Executive Officer Municipality would conduct frequent inspection of the markets particularly during the festival days.

The Chief Medical officer was directed to provide Medicare facilities at Eid Gah and Jamia Masjid Udhampur during the festival while District Police was asked to deploy adequate police and traffic personnel in traffic jam prone places of the town for traffic regulation.

Meanwhile, the shopkeepers have also been directed to exhibit the rate lists of eatables in white colour on red background for the information of the general public. The DC appealed the shopkeepers to wear face masks, maintain social distancing and follow Covid appropriate behaviour for their own safety and safety of the general public.

Non-adherence to these rules will attract strict action and such shops and premises will be sealed by the District Administration.
