UDHAMPUR: To strengthen the Covid-19 management at Panchayat level of the District Udhampur, Deputy Commissioner, Indu Kanwal Chib today conducted an extensive visit of various Panchayats of Tehsil Chenani and Latti and inspected the newly established Covid Care Centres.
During the visit, the DC interacted with staff members and enquired about the availability of infrastructure in these centres. She also got feedback about vaccination, testing, contact tracing, follow up of isolated patients at home, availability of bedding capacity at designated centers. She instructed the concerned officers to upscale the vaccination process and urged the people to get vaccinated at designated Centes to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. She further asked the concerned authorities to assure proper care of COVID-19 infected persons ensuring their early recovery.
The DC also visited several vaccination centres established in these Panchayats to vaccinate people and took stock of the vaccination process. She stressed upon the health department to evolve an effective strategy for early detection of COVID cases for controlling spread of this dreaded virus. She further appealed to the general public to go for COVID-19 vaccination to avoid the spread of COVID-19 infection as vaccination is extremely important to build immunity against the COVID-19 infection.
She stressed on the need to follow all the directives issued from time to time by the Government. On the direction of Lieutenant Governor, the DC informed that the District Administration has established 5 bedded Covid Care Center in every Panchayat of the District so that those households not having the option for isolation of Covid positive patients in their own residence can stay in these centers.
