DC Samba finalises Maha Shivratri festival arrangements

SAMBA: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta today chaired a meeting of District officers and Representatives of Religious organizations here in the Conference Hall DC office to finalise the arrangements for  Maha Shivratri Festival.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Dubey; SDM Ghagwal Ramkesh Sharma; SDM Vijaypur, Vinay Sharma; ACR, Manu Hansa; Additional SP, CMO, ARTO, tehsildars, BDOs, Executive Officer MCs, other officers besides representatives of religious organisations from Purmandal-Utterbeni & Dharmarth Trust J&K.

During the meeting, detailed discussion was held on arrangements including power and water supply, sanitation, security, traffic management, availability of essentials particularly sugar, flour, rice, LPG, deployment of Fire tenders. A market checking squad was constituted to keep check on overcharging, quality of eatables etc.

The DC asked the Police Department to make elaborate security arrangements, including deployment of police personnel at Purmandal Utterbehni temples and other prominent temples where rush of devotees is witnessed on the occasion. The Traffic department was asked to formulate an effective traffic management plan to avoid unnecessary jam and inconvenience to the public and devotees during the festival.

The Health authorities were asked to ensure availability of ambulances and other medical facilities to tackle any emergency .

Municipality Councils were tasked to ensure the cleanliness in and around all temples, routes leading to religious places and streets of the town. Besides, teams were directed to conduct intensive market checking to avoid over profiteering and sale of rotten/sub standard food items to consumers.

Besides, various other arrangements like deployment of duty magistrates, establishment of control room were also discussed at the meeting.

The DC directed all the concerned Officers to place in all the arrangements well in advance so that devotees face no inconvenience during festive occasions.
