DC Ramban tours Banihal, inspects development works

RAMBAN: Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam today toured Sub-Division Banihal to take stock of progress on developmental projects and implementation of beneficiary oriented schemes besides listened to the grievances of general public at public outreach programme.

He also visited the site of the blast near premises of the executing agency involved in four laning of Jammu-Srinagar National Highway project in which two persons were injured.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Sharma; SDM, Zaheer Abass Bhat; BMO, Dr. Rabia Khan and other officers were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, the DC also discussed development issues with the PRIs.

The DC took a comprehensive review of progress on construction of a new building of Sub-District Hospital, Banihal. The DC was apprised by the authorities of executing agencies that all civil and other allied works have been completed and only installation of lift is pending.

The DC directed the construction agencies to complete the work of installation of lift without any further delay so that the hospital starts functioning from new building at the earliest.

While appreciating BMO and CSC team for registering a large number of people under PM-JAY-SEHAT scheme, the DC directed the BMO to sensitize the patients and their attendants besides ensure that all the patients shall avail the benefit of the flagship health insurance scheme. SEHAT scheme aims at providing universal health insurance coverage of Rs. 5.00 lakh to all residents of J&K UT.

The Deputy Commissioner also went around the wards and reviewed the availability of equipment and fixture items at the hospital.

The DC also visited Sabzi Mandi, besides directed SDM to identify suitable land for solid waste management site and abattoir for which funds would be made available by H&UDD.

The DC also urged the youth to avail the benefits of youth oriented schemes including MUMKIN and TEJASWANI   launched by the J&K Government.  He also asked the youth to constitute youth clubs for their overall development.

The DC also urged the general public to contact nearest Village Level Entrepreneurs for PMJAY-SEHAT registration along with their Aadhar and Ration Cards.

While talking to the media persons, the DC said that the administration is taking all necessary steps to contain the spread of Covid infection. He also urged the people to wear masks and maintain physical distance in order to prevent Covid-19 infection.

Later, the DC also inspected the functioning of Tehsil Library and Horticulture Department.
