RAJOURI: As a part of the weekly Block Diwas, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today presided over a public outreach camp in the Panjah area of Kalakote block.
The event was aimed at bringing the administration closer to the people and addressing their grievances.
During the camp, the Deputy Commissioner interacted with the locals and listened to their issues and concerns. He assured them that their problems would be addressed on priority basis and directed the concerned officials to take necessary action.
The camp witnessed a good turnout, with people from various parts of the block coming forward to voice their concerns. The demands raised by the locals included the macadamization of roads, upgradation of schools, meeting shortage of staff in Government institutions and augmentation of health infrastructure etc.
Specific issues and demands highlighted during the camp were up-gradation of GMS Panjah to HS level, meeting shortage of staff in sub-centre Panjah, Construction of Panchayat Ghar building for Panjah, inclusion of left out eligible beneficiaries under PMAY-G, provision of electric poles, renovation of road from main road to Panjah, completion of road from Brevi to Tatapani, construction of a bridge between Bathera and Panjah, repair of defunct hand pumps etc.
During the public outreach camp, the officers of different departments also took the opportunity to educate the locals about various government schemes and programs and urged them to take advantage of these initiatives.
In his address during the public outreach camp, the Deputy Commissioner sought active cooperation from the general public and called for coordination among departments and PRIs to achieve desired development objectives.
He also urged the youth to avail the benefits of self-employment schemes launched by the government and exhorted them to become self-reliant.
Responding to issues and demands raised during the public outreach camp, the DC passed on the spot directions to the concerned departments for redressal of issues highlighted by the public on priority and in a time-bound manner.
Responding to the issue of construction of road from Kharaq to Panjah, the DC assured that the work on the road would start soon and also assured to provide an adequate number of electricity poles under the RDSS scheme of the PDD sector.
Responding to the issue of water scarcity, the DC said that every household of the district would be provided functional tapped water connections with the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission.
The public outreach camp was a success, with the locals appreciating the efforts of the administration in reaching out to them and addressing their grievances. The public outreach camp at Panjah served as an effective platform for the public to voice their concerns and for the government officials to take necessary actions to address them.
The timely and quality disposal of issues faced by the general public is a top priority of the district administration, and officers have been directed to work with added zeal to mitigate the sufferings of the people.
