Directs to follow CAB religiously

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara,  Imam Din today convened a  meeting of concerned officers to review the Covid-19 mitigation efforts (CME) and other arrangements being made on the eve of forth coming Eid-ul-Azha and Muharram.

The DC said that because of strenuous efforts of dedicated staff of Health, Revenue,  Education, ICDS, Police and other departments, the district administration has achieved satisfactory breakthrough and by now positivity rate has gone down to 0.29% in the district. 

He said it is the need of the hour that we should continue to follow the COVID Appropriate Behaviour religiously and honestly so that the district could be declared as a green zone.

The DC stressed upon the concerned officers and Magistrates and police officers to strictly ensure that Covid SOPs should not be violated in any case in view of ensuing Eid and Muharram.

He also exhorted upon the religious leaders and Imams to ensure that no huge gatherings shall take place to offer Eid prayers, adding that it is the moral responsibility of every citizen to support administrative efforts to avoid resurgence of Covid pandemic in the district.

The DC directed the magistrates to ensure that no gatherings shall be allowed at tourist resorts including Chandigam and Bangus.

Senior Superintendent of Police Kupwara,  S P Handwara,  Additional District Development  Commissioner, Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, SDM Lolab, ARTO, Tehsildars , EOs of  MC Kupwara/Hanwara/Langate, SHOs and other concerned attended the meeting.
