DC Kupwara visits Budnambal, reviews development profile

Directs officers to achieve targets within working season

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Thursday said that the development of far off and border areas like Budnambal is top most priority of the Government and District Administration Kupwara is committed to fulfil the development requirements of the people living in Budnambal and other hilly areas of the district. 

 The DC was addressing a public darbar here yesterday, convened to review the developmental profile and to assess the problems of the people in the area.

The DDC Member and the Chairman, Block Development Council of Redi Chowkibal, officers of the administration and PRIs attended the public darbar.

The DC stressed upon the officers to work with added dedication and complete all on-going works within the targeted period keeping in view the limited working season due to weather vagaries in the area.

The DDC Member, BDC chairman and the public, on the occasion projected various issues pertaining to the development of the area. These demands include augmentation of basic amenities like water supply, connectivity, link roads, power and other day to day requirements.

The DC reviewed functioning of each department one by one including Education, Revenue, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Rural Development, Health, PDD and telecommunication and gave on-spot directions to the officers for timely redressal of the grievances. 

Addressing the occasion, the DC assured the public that all demands have been listed by the concerned officers, who have been directed to prepare an action taken report of the grievances and demands. He added that on the next visit to the area, officers shall report to you regarding every issue.

He directed the Executive Engineer Jal Shakti to speed up the pace of augmentation of water supply schemes in the area and was informed that the Jal Shakti department is upgrading the water supply system in the area.

Reviewing the progress of the Education department, the DC directed for holding of community classes to benefit the student community.

During the visit to Budnambal, the DC inspected various ongoing works. On the inspection of a bridge, the DC directed concerned engineers to ensure completion of the bridge which will provide connectivity to Budnambal main and Budnambal bala.

Later the DC distributed ALC certificates among a number of beneficiaries of the area.

Earlier, the DDC member and BDC chairperson also spoke and projected the issues confronting the local people of the area especially during winter season. 

Various public deputations met the DC and apprised him about their developmental issues.

The DC heard them patiently and issued on spot directions to the concerned officers for timely redressal of the issues raised by the people.
