KUPWARA: A joint meeting of District Development Council (DDC) members, Chairpersons of Block Development Council, Civil and police officers was held here at DC office, Kupwara, today.
The meeting was co-chaired by Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir and Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara Imam Din. The Additional District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone was also present in the meeting.
The meeting was convened to review the arrangements for smooth conduct and celebration of Independence Day at Block and Panchayat levels.
During the meeting threadbare discussions with regard to micro level planning for successful conduct of the National event was held. It was given out that various projects and welfare programmes shall be inaugrated or foundation stone be laid on the eve of Independence Day.
The Health department was directed to provide a list of villages where cent percent vaccination has been registered so that the covid wariors shall be provided appreciation certificates on the eve of Independence Day.
Likewise, other departments shall also play their role in the celebration of the national event.
It was also informed that the Rural Development Department shall be the nodal agency to make all arrangements for successful conduct of Independence Day.
The Deputy Commissioner also stressed upon all stakeholders to make a list of activities for inauguration on the eve of Independence Day.
Later in a separate meeting with DDC members and BDC Chairpersons, the Deputy Commissioner discussed the PRIs funds positions. The meeting also discussed threadbare the mechanism for purchase of Solar Lights through PRIs funds.
