Asks engineers to complete works in a time bound manner

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din, Wednesday asked Executive Engineers and field functionaries to ensure their presence at work places so that there could be visible improvement in the system. 

The DC was addressing a meeting of engineers of PMGSY, R&B, KPDCL and Jal Shakti here today to review the progress of 37 ongoing PMGSY projects in the district. These projects are held up for want of shifting of utilities to enable completion and the Government has provided necessary funds for shifting of utilities so that all these projects could be completed well in time. 

The DC directed the engineers of KPDCL and Jal Shakti Department to ensure timely shifting of the utilities so that the pending works of 37 PMGSY projects could be completed on time.

He asked them to make a PERT chart of work plan and ensure timely completion of all the target works. He said funds are available and ensure a process for tendering of all works. 

The DC exhorted the engineers to check the quality of material used in development works, adding that engineers are doing welfare work by giving assets to the public.

He also directed the engineers to ensure timely redressal of public grievances and desist from any kind of mislead to the public approaching their offices. 

Various issues projected by different engineering departments were discussed and the DC gave on spot directions to resolve them.

The Joint Direction Planning, Abdul Majeed, Executive Engineers of various disciplines, DIO and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
