‘District admin Procuring 60 Fowler beds; 10 oxygen concentrators out of MPLAD fund shortly’

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma, today informed that Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has sanctioned an amount of Rs 30.63 lakh out of his MPLAD fund for Oxygen plants and up-gradation of COVID health care facilities in the district.

Addressing the media persons here today, the DC informed that out of Rs 30.63 lakh the District administration   has to procure 60 number of Fowler beds (complete) and 10 number of oxygen concentrators for district Hospital Kishtwar to further equip it for tackling any type of unprecedented situation besides to manage  the current COVID19 Pandemic efficiently.

He further said that district administration has geared up to conduct Door to Door vaccination drives in areas with tough geographic conditions for covering the left-out persons above 45 yrs of age.

 He further informed that Sub Divisional level committees, headed by SDMs and concerned  tehsildars and BDOs,  are closely  monitoring and assessing  the progress on the Covid Mitigation measures, including  vaccination drives and allied  Covid care facilities in rural areas and are sharing the data with higher ups.

He complemented the  PRIs, Health education  department, Education Department, Police Department, Rural Development Department  and Social Welfare Department for their untiring efforts put in to combat the pandemic.

While giving further details, he informed that during the 2nd wave, starting from March, 1424 cases were reported, out of which 1174 have recovered and 235 are active, including 13 admitted in District Hospital.

He briefed that the recovery rate is constantly picking up and the positivity rate has dipped in the district due to the effective implementation of COVID mitigation measures in the district.

He revealed that  at present there are  20 micro-containment zones in the district, while 3 micro-containment zones have been partially  de-notified and 3 have been fully de-notified. He said more micro containment zones will be de-notified gradually after massive testing.

While giving detail about the COVID mitigation and containment measures, he informed that sufficient oxygen cylinders and concentrators are available in the District, besides 818 Covid Kits containing essential medicines and oximeter  have been distributed among the COVID  positive patients till date. He said that the civil work on the 1500 LPM oxygen generation plant has been completed in DH and it will be soon commissioned.
