42 percent in 18-44 year age group administered vaccine dose in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Around 42 percent in the 18-44 year age group have been administered vaccine dose in Kishtwar, while the district has recorded a steep decline in the positivity rate.

Addressing the weekly presser here today, Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma informed that Test, Trace, Treat strategy along with Tikka abhiyan is being aggressively followed and 42 % of the targeted population in the 18-44 age bar have been administered at least one dose of Covid vaccine so far.

He further informed that presently there is only 01 micro-containment zone as all others have been de-notified with the improvement of COVID free testing.

He said that though the number of COVID 19 patients is declining  day by day in the district, it does not imply that people lower the guard against the virus.

 He informed that last week 7365 tests were conducted and the positivity which put the positivity rate at 0.3%.

He informed that during the second surge 1846 positive cases out of 1898   have recovered with a remarkable declining trend in positivity rate.
