Special drive being launched for unvaccinated drivers, shopkeepers in Kishtwar: DC

KISHTWAR: Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Ashok Sharma today said that a special drive was being launched in the district for unvaccinated driver and shopkeepers

He was speaking at the periodical media briefing on the current Covid Care and Containment Scenario in the district.

It was informed that since 1st of March, 1774 cases have been reported, Out of which 1633 recovered and 125 are active at present.

He informed that this week the positivity rate has dropped to 0.78 % with 71 new positive cases which is on the down side as compared to previous week, while 89 persons have recovered which is relatively higher than last week.

Giving detail of Covid containment measures, he said a new containment Zone has been notified this week after reports of positive cases, which took the total number of micro-containment zones to 12 in the district.

He informed  that to ensure the cent-percent vaccination, the District administration has taken various measures.

He briefed that district administration is conducting door to door mopping and Vaccination exercise besides holding special vaccination camps in the congested areas.

So far around 88% of the population in 45 year and above age group ,  10000 persons in the 18-44 yr age bar have been inoculated in the district. He further said that a special vaccination drive is being conducted for the drivers and shopkeepers.
