DC Kishtwar inaugurates the Digital Skills Training under DigiSaksham at ITI Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: A six-day digital skills training in MS Excel and Python started on Monday at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kishtwar.

The training is being organised under DigiSaksham, a joint digital skill initiative by Microsoft and the Ministry of Labour & Employment, supported by the District Administration, District Employment and Counselling Centre (DE&CC) (Model Career Centre MCC – Kishtwar) and ITI Kishtwar.

The training workshop was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav, in the presence of the ITI Principal, Mandeep Dogra; Employment Officer, Waseem Khan, Project Manager TMI, Shaik Imran and Trainer, Rajni.

Around 100 candidates from across the district are participating in the six-day training. These candidates will be certified by Microsoft and the Ministry of Labour and Employment and will receive career guidance and placement opportunities.

During the session, DC Kishtwar talked about the benefits of this training programme and encouraged participating youth to maximise its benefits through teamwork. Principal ITI addressed the youth and talked about the benefits of the training. A trainer from Microsoft briefed guests and trainees about the programme and said it is being organised for the first time in any district of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The training is free of cost to increase employability of unemployed aspiring youth. It provides best-in-class learning content from Microsoft and trainees will receive industry-recognised certifications. Linkages will be established with the IT industry to provide job opportunities to youths in metro cities through National Career Service (NCS).
