DC Kishtwar presides over Weekly Block Diwas at Palmar

KISHTWAR: To redress the grievances of the people at their doorstep, the weekly block diwas was today held at various designated places of the district Kishtwar.

At Palmar, the Block Divas was presided over by Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Sharma.

BDC Chairperson Palmar, Lalita Devi; DSWO, Tariq Parveaz Qazi; Chief Education Officer, Ashok Kumar; CHO, Mushtaq Ahmed Wani; CAO, S K Bhagat; BDO Palmar, Lal Chand; Xen PWD Ramesh Jamwal; Xen PHE Anil Kaylu besides other District and Sectoral officers were  present on the occasion.

Scores of locals and PRI members of the area projected their demands.

The delegations led by PRIs demanded upgrading of Education, Health, road, water supply and Power infrastructure   and improvement of service delivery.

The sought EVS lecturer post, upgrading of the  accommodation and building infrastructure in the local Higher Secondary School, , upgradation of  GMS Kundgwari and GHS Patimhalla, widening of main road, construction of new and up-gradation and maintenance of old link roads, payment of land and structure compensation to the owners, timely payment of MGNREGA wages, sanctioning of new FSC&CA depots at Palmar, streamlining of Fasal Beema Yojana, Employment of locals in HEPP, speedy  construction of panchayat Ghar buildings at lower Palmar C and  animal Husbandry Buildings at Palmar.

After listening to their demand and issues, the DDC   redressed many grievances on the spot by passing a slew of direction to the concerned officers.

On the issue of the scarcity of water in the area and to remove the bottlenecks in the existing water supply schemes in the area, he directed Xen PHE to identify the hotspots and expedite the process of restoration of damaged pipeline.

To ensure the timely completion of the 23 kms Saplootan WSS and pari bagh WSS, the DDC   directed the XEn PHE to expedite the work to complete the projects in a time bound manner.

Xen PHE informed retrofitting was being done at 3   Panchayats of the lower Palmar area and the same would be completed soon. He said that the water supply to the Borna area will be restored within a week’s time.

DC Kishtwar further informed the people that the habitations with the population of 250 in the census 2011 will be covered under phase 3 of the PMGSY and he asked the PRI to identify such habitations and project them in gram plans.

On the issue of pending land compensation, he informed that Rs 238 crore has been projected as liability to the higher authorities and the same shall be cleared as and when it was released.

 The DC also inspected the stalls displaying the tools, agriculture machines and products besides individual beneficiary schemes of various department for the farmers and Orchardists.

The main attraction of the occasion was the display of first time grown button mushrooms by farmers.

On the occasion, the officers imparted awareness about the Nasha Mukht Bharat campaign, besides agriculture and allied sector schemes to the participants.

 Scores of farmers and orchardists were felicitated on the occasion for their extra ordinary achievements, while 50 Soil Health cards and 2 tillers were also provided to the farmers.

Similar programme was also held at sub Division Chatroo, which was presided over by SDM, Inderjeet Singh Parihar at Tagood.

Tehsildar Mughal Maidan, Nayeem Iqbal Sheikh, BDO Mughal Maidan Arun Badyal, ZEO Inderwal Ramesh Babu besides other officials were present.  Around 14 Domicile certificates and 8 income certificates were issued on the spot. A number of grievances were also redressed.

At the block headquarters Drabshalla block diwas programme was held under the chairmanship of ACR, Dr Amir Hussain. He listened to the grievances of people and distributed individual oriented beneficiary certificates, including 45 domicile certificates, 12 Caste certificates besides others.

Grievances redress camp was also held at block headquarter Paddar under the supervision of SDM. Tehsildar Atholi and TSO were also present on the occasion.
