DC convenes interactive meeting with PRIs at Kupwara

KUPWARA: The District Administration Kupwara today convened an interactive meeting of PRIs at D.C Office, here.

Chairman District Development Council (DDC), Kupwara, Irfan Sultan Panditpori; Vice Chairman, DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; DDC Members and BDC Chairpersons participated in the interactive session.

The Chairman DDC in his address welcomed the Deputy Commissioner for his posting in Kupwara district. He highlighted various developmental issues of the district and hoped for a new era of development and prosperity in the district.

Vice Chairman DDC Kupwara also spoke at the occasion and said that the Council will work neck to neck with District Administration to achieve the developmental goals of the district.

The elected representatives welcomed the Deputy Commissioner to the district for second tenure and expressed hope that developmental activities will receive fillip and momentum the way they got during his first tenure. The PRIs highlighted various demands and issues regarding road connectivity, power sector, scarcity of drinking water, sanitation, solid waste management, education and health sectors.

The Deputy Commissioner sought cooperation of PRIs and assured to work for accelerating developmental activities and quick resolution of issues. He also called upon the District Development Council to extend their cooperation in enhancing awareness of the general public about various centrally sponsored schemes which have to be brought to saturation level as per national priorities.

Referring to the Aspirational District Programme, the Deputy Commissioner appealed to the elected PRIs to play their effective role in improving performance indicators relating to health, education, water conservation and basic amenities so that the intent behind this revolutionary programme is met.

While responding to demands put forth by the PRIs, the Deputy Commissioner assured for a responsible and accountable administration which will work in coordination with the PRIs.
