BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed on Wednesday presided over a public interaction programme at Panzigam, here under Block Diwas initiative of government.
On the occasion, the general public presented issues of public importance before the DC.
Issues pertaining to electricity, roads, water supply and other issues of public importance were raised on the occasion.
The DC after giving patient hearing to issues of public passed on spot direction for redressal of various issues and assured redressal of all other genuine issues in a time bound manner.
Dr Owais on the occasion also attended e-inaugration of Rural Haat established at Panzigam Bandipora under National Flagship Programme Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM).
He appreciated the efforts of NRLM and urged the youth to become self-sufficient and self-reliant taking full benefits of Government schemes.
The Rural Haat facility is provided for Marketing of self made local products supporting facilities of Krishi sakhi, pashu sakhi and digi pay sakhi etc under UMEED Saksham Nari Ki Pehchaan.
The Rural Haat is a market facility for SHGs working under JK Rural Livelihood Mission which started operations in 2014 in Bandipora District and covered all blocks involving 17906 households and 2132 SHGs.
The DC also inspected various stalls displaying local products established by SHGs working under NRLM.
