During the tour, the DC visited check Kralpora, Mantrigam, Braripora and check Chandaji areas and interacted with people besides inspecting ongoing Public Works. He also reviewed the developmental activities taking place in the area especially road connectivity, availability of potable water, schools etc.

He said the aim of the tour was to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for accurate and on ground assessment and redressal of the same thereby providing governance to the public at their door steps.

Dozens of delegations including members of Panchayat Raj Institutions besides scores of individuals called on the DC during the tour and apprised him about the problems faced by them in day to day life including road connectivity, construction of paths and culverts, availability of safe drinking water, augmentation of power infrastructure, up-gradation of schools etc.

The DC after giving patient hearing to the delegations, passed on-spot directions for redressal of their grievances and various issues, while several committees and joint teams were constituted to resolve issues raised by the people during the program.

Dr Owais inspected Check-Helipad to Braripora road and directed the concerned officers for necessary repair of the road. He also called for taking up the road under NABARD so that road can be upgraded and extended up to chandaji.

Regarding water supply, the DC said Rs 1.12 Cr is being spent in the area to augment the water supply system so that pure drinking water reaches every household.

On spot directions were passed to JKPDD department to send a team to the village to assess the needs to upgrade the power infrastructure in the area including replacement of poles, up-gradation of transformers and carrier.

DC also visited the local Middle school and announced to provide three computer systems to the school so that an IT lab can be established in the school.

Responding to the demands raised, DC asked the rural development department to upgrade the path that leads to the road besides fencing of the school and a wooden bridge for the convenience of the students who according to locals have to cross a stream to reach the school.

Dr Owais also asked the officers of Irrigation and Flood Control to visit the area and come up with a report regarding augmentation of Flood Protection works in the streams nearby.
