Directs for early disposal of court cases

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel ul Rehman Rather on Tuesday led a comprehensive assessment of the Labor Department in a meeting held at the Mini Secretariat, here.

The meeting deliberated upon various topics, including various labour legislations and public services through digital platforms and grievance redressal systems.

The meeting discussed in detail the implementation of various Labour legislations at District Level such as Central Labour Laws, Implementation of Building and Other Construction Workers Act and Implementation of Quasi-Judicial functions.

ALC Bandipora apprised the chair about physical/financial progress of the J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board scheme, status of registrations/renewals received online under different Acts during the current year, and achievements made under different acts including shops & establishments act, Contract labour act, Child Labour act, Motor Transport Workers act.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between Labour department and different Departments including Social Welfare, Rural development department and CWC to effectively address Child labour related issues.

The DC highlighted the significance of prioritizing efforts that empower the Labour community and underscored the need to offer comprehensive assistance to workers encountering challenges.

Among others, the meeting was attended by ADC, Umar Shafi Pandit; CPO, Mohammad Maqbool; ACD, Mumtaz Ahmad; LDM, ALC and other concerned.
