DC flags off Covid Awareness Rally at B’pora

Inspects functioning of DH Bandipora

BANDIPORA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Thursday flagged off a Covid Awareness Rally at District Hospital Bandipora. 

The rally was attended by students of AMT School Bandipora and other health volunteers. 

The rally was held with an aim to create awareness about the importance of taking precautionary measures against COVID-19, adherence to appropriate behavior among the masses and started from DH Bandipora and culminated at Gulshan Chowk Bandipora.

 The students while marching through different  markets were carrying placards with slogans inscribed on them asking people to take precautionary measures to fight the pandemic.

Enroute the participants also distributed masks among the people who were not wearing masks and appealed to them to wear masks in public places.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and SOPs are vital to prevent any spike in infections and cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay and its spread is curtailed further.  

 He appealed to the people not to lower guard and asked them to follow guidelines so that administration is not forced to take action against violators. He said the general public can report the violation of SOPs to the controlled rooms so that action can be taken against violators. 

Dr Owais later conducted an inspection of District Hospital to review the functioning of the hospital. He visited several wards and sections of the hospital and interacted with the medical staff, patients and para medic staff to know about the healthcare facilities being provided to the people. 

Chief Medical Officer, Dr Bashir Ahmad, Medical Superintendent Dr Mushtaq Ahmad, Principal AMT School and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
