Reviews progress of district in various priority sectors
ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla today said that the district is making significant development at grassroots level with active involvement of the PRIs and other elected public representatives. Here said that more that 277 Panchayat works will be inaugurated besides foundation will be laid for 215 new works from 09th of this month upto the Independence Day.
The DDC said this while taking a comprehensive review of the activities being taken in the district in run up to the 75th Independence Day Celebrations besides the progress made by the district in Mission Youth, Forest Rights Act, Vaccination, District Capex, Back to Village, construction of toilets along Yatra Route, PMJAY-Sehat, 100 percent water supply to Schools, AWCs and Health institutions, JJM, public grievance resolution and other thrust areas.
Pertinent to mention, these are top priority sectors of the Govt and the DDC has chaired a series of meetings so far for taking periodic review of the progress made on ground.
Calling these sectors as top priorities of administration, the DDC impressed upon the officers to expedite the ongoing work so that desirable results are achieved in a time bound manner.
The DDC called for taking a host of activities like Safai Abhiyans, Covid Awareness programmes, inauguration of completed works and laying foundation for new works by PRIs during the next week.
Directing the concerned officers to make coordinated efforts for smooth implementation of Mission Youth programme, the DDC said that Youth clubs, playfields and self employment schemes and various other key initiatives of the government will empower the youth of the district.
Directions were passed to the concerned officers to compile and forward the claims received under Forest Rights Act so that the genuine claimants are conferred with the forest rights in a time bound manner.
Reviewing the status of toilets on Yatra Routes, the DDC directed for working in mission mode for installing the public utilities at important locations.
Dr. Singla issued instructions for 100 percent provision of water connections to AWCs and schools in near future. The concerned were also directed to resolve the issues being faced in this regard.
Taking stock of B2V works, the DDC exhorted for completing the tendering and allotment process so that they are completed within stipulated time frame. Since there are many works identified in each Panchayat, their completion is pivotal for overall development and welfare of rural areas, he remarked.
Stress was also laid for preparing the remaining estimates under District Capex and monitoring the execution of those works on ground besides enhancing the speed of work in Languishing Projects.
Regarding public grievance resolution, Dr. Singla enjoined upon the officers to promptly send factual replies, responses and action taken reports on all grievances.
Health authorities were directed to expedite pace of registrations under PMJAY_Sehat besides intensfying vaccination drives for both 18-44 and above 45 categories.
Instructions were also passed to enforce CAB at all places so that the 3rd Covid wave is averted.
The meeting was informed about 85 percent that is more than 3000 works under District Capex have been estimated and accorded with more than 50 percent funds released to the executing agencies for those works so far. Besides, more than 1050 works under B2V have been accorded, out of which more than 170 are under execution.
Further the district capex budget has been enhanced 3 times to more than 885 crore this year and works in multiple sectors are being taken across the district.
During the proceedings, threadbare discussions were held to work out practicable ways and modalities for achieving palpable progress on these vital sectors and initiatives.
The meeting was attended by ADC(G), CPO, SEs of PWD, PDD and Hydraulic, SDMs, ACD, ACR, Tehsildars, BDOs, and other concerned officers.
