KULGAM: To enhance the capacities of various child protection functionaries for the implementation of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and model rules 2016 in the district, the District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with ICPS with the support of UNICEF today started a training schedule in the district.
Under this training schedule, a daylong training programme for members of Block Level Child Protection Committees, D.H Pora, Manzgam and DK Marag was inaugurated today by SDM-Noorabad, Umer Shafi Pandith at Community Hall D.H Pora.
During the programme, members of various Block and Village level Child Protection Committees (CPCs) will be provided training about the JJ Act 2015, POCSO Act and their role in various child protection activities in the district.
On the occasion, speakers and resource persons apprised participants about Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act, 2015, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 and their role vis-à-vis child protection services.
District Child Protection Officer/ DSWO Kulgam Snober Altaf and other officers were present during this programme.
