Day-long Career Counselling Workshop held at Bandipora

BANDIPORA:  A day-long career counselling workshop was today held at Mini Secretariat Bandipora.

The program was organised by District Administration Bandipora under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan for the students who are in their career deciding years to make them understand career opportunities in different fields and to provide awareness regarding drug Abuse.

The programme witnessed awareness regarding civil service as career option- strategies and motivation, emerging career opportunities in IT Sector and Digital media Marketing and  career choices. 

The programme was presided over by  Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed.

Additional District Development Commissioner Bandipora Afsar Ali Khan, DPO ICDS Bandipora Mohd Ashraf Hakak, Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Waseem Raja, Tehsildar Sumbal Zeeshan Tahir, Project Manager DIC Bandipora Mehraj Wani and various guest speakers were  present on the occasion

Speaking on the occasion, the DC stressed on Parental Care, Motivation, proper exposure to career opportunities for excelling in different fields.

He said that administration is always  looking forward  for the guidance of the students and their successful future. He said for  this purpose, the District Administration organized various  career counseling seminars for the students and todays workshop is also part of the series of activities held for guidance of youth for making careers in different fields.

DC opined that career counselling sessions on regular basis act as boon for the youth who are in career deciding years.

He  said, today’s workshop was held under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan for raising awareness regarding various career opportunities and to aware the students and youth regarding various ill effects of drug abuse.

Dr. Owais stressed upon the role  of awareness programmes and sensitization programme in fight against drugs.

He said drug addiction is treatable and various measures have been taken for treatment and rehabilitation of addicts.

Dr Owais stressed upon the role of students in spreading the awareness regarding harmfull effects of drugs.

An interactive session was also held on the occasion in which  students were asked  about their career preferences and career related scenario with the students.

After listening to the students’ views the speakers highlighted  important information related to personality development and preparation related strategy.

ADC Bandipora, Waseem Raja, Tehsilar Sumbal Zeeshan Tahir, DySP Security Dr. Hilal Ahmad and various other speakers  delivered lectures on career opportunities in various subjects and fields.
