COVID-19 in J&K: 600 dead as virus claims eight more lives in Valley

SRINAGAR: The death toll due to the Coronavirus has touched 600-mark in Jammu and Kashmir as eight more patients including a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man died on Friday in Kashmir division.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that eight patients who died include a 52-year-old CRPF man of 61 battalion, a 70 year old man from Budina Budgam, an 85-year-old man from Drangbal Pampore, a 62-year-old man from Gantmulla Baramulla, a 65-year-old man from Wagoora area of Baramulla, a 74-year-old man from Kralpora Budgam, a 70-year-old woman from Chattabal Srinagar and a 67-year-old male from Dalgate Srinagar.

An official from SKIMS Soura said that a 52-year-old CRPF man from 61 battalion Shivpora Srinagar who was admitted on 18 August, died on Friday.

He added that a patient from Budina Budgam who was admitted on 20 August and an 85-year-old man from Drangbal Pampore who was admitted on 14 August also died on Friday.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Gantmulla Baramulla who was admitted on 17 August and a patient from Kachu Maqam Wagoora Baramulla who was admitted with Chronic Kidney disease, diabetes and bilateral Pneumonia on 08 August died at SMHS.

An official from JVC Bemina said that a patient from Kralpora Budgam who was admitted on 18 August and a patient from Chan Mohalla Chattabal Srinagar who was admitted on 14 August died on Friday.

An official from CD hospital said that a patient from Dalgate Srinagar who was admitted on 11 August died on Friday.

With eight more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 600 including 559 from Kashmir division and 41 from Jammu division.
