NEW DELHI: Congress leader Salman Nizami Thursday said he will move to the Supreme Court (SC) on the domicile laws, which was unveiled by the Government of India for Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

Nizami as per wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in his tweet said that domicile law is a direct attack on the identity of J&K.

“Like BJP has no plans to respect the dignity of people of the State. Shameful law that tears into our social, economical and cultural fabric. I will personally move to Supreme Court,” Nizami tweeted.

“BJP wants to divert attention from its failures when world including India is facing health emergency due to Coronavirus the Govt is busy in issuing orders to further provoke people,” he said.

He demanded stringent laws be enforced to safeguard the interests of the state and only J&K residents should be entitled to jobs in Union Territory. “If non-locals are allowed to purchase land and get jobs in J&K, it will lead to unemployment, joblessness & poverty in the region,” he added.
