SRINAGAR: For the second consecutive day on Friday, the Pakistan army violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Karnah sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, targeting defence locations at forward posts.

An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that Pakistan army initiated the unprovoked ceasefire violation by resorting to intense firing of small arms and shelling with mortars, targeting defence locations at forward posts in Karnah sector of Kupwara.

The official said that the Army was giving a “strong and befitting” response to the ceasefire violation.

“No one has been injured so far in the firing which has created panic among the people living in forward areas,” he said. The heavy shelling was going on from both sides when this report was being filed.

Pertinently, yesterday afternoon Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Machil sector of the Kupwara district.
