Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Painting competition on ‘Catch the Rain’ organised in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO) Kishtwar, today organised a painting competition in different schools of district Kishtwar with an aim to spread awareness regarding the conservation and preservation of water and promote ‘Catch the Rain’ Campaign.

Students of government and private schools of Kishtwar Town namely Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) and Government Higher Secondary School (Girls) Kishtwar; High School ABN; High School Little Angels; Government High School Sangrabata; Government High School, Pochhal;   High School Asraria Valley; High School Bandrina and Middle School, Malipath took part in the painting competition on the theme “Jal Shakti Abhiyan – Catch The Rain”.

Apart from this, the painting competition was also held across all educational zones of the district.

The painting competition in GHSS (Boys) and GHSS (Girls) Kishtwar was held under the supervision of Lecturer Physics Arshad Hussain Dev, PET Vijay Kumar, PEM Bharti Sharawat & PET, Tazeem Rashid Butt.

The students expressed their ideas through beautiful painting regarding the conservation of water by way of -Catch the Rain and other rain water harvesting measures.

Later, all the participants took an oath to save the water besides. Certificates of appreciation were also distributed among the students.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion were organizing secretary  Kharati Lal Sharma (DYSSO Kishtwar) and sports persons Ram Saroop, Bharti Sharawat, Shahnawaz Qazi, Suresh Chander Parihar, Arshad Amin, Javed Iqbal Sheikh, Vijay Kumar, Zorawar Singh, REKs, etc.
