Srinagar: Budgam Police on Thursday said that they have recovered a kidnapped minor girl and arrested her kidnapper within 12 hours.
An per an official statement, Police Station Magam received a written complaint from Mohammad Ayoub Hajam son of Ghulam Hussain Hajam resident of Hagerpora that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped by one Rafeeq Ahmed Malla son of Fayaz Ahmed Malla @ Kuka resident of Kongamdara pattan.
Later, a case FIR number 218/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Magam and an investigation was initiated.
However, during the investigation, a special team headed by SHO Magam Insp. Gowhar Ali while acting on the specific leads raided various places for recovery of the girl.
“After strenuous efforts, the police team recovered the kidnapped girl from Archandrahama area of Magam and also arrested the accused kidnapper. He has been shifted to Police Station Magam where he remains in custody,” the statement said.
It further said that after fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl was handed over to her legal heirs. “Investigation into the matter is in progress,” it added.
