POONCH: District administration Poonch, under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Rahul Yadav on Wednesday organised Block Diwas at Tehsil Complex Surankote.
Similar activities were also organised at Poonch, Mandi and Mendhar.
On the occasion, SDM Surankote, Mohammad Saleem; CEO tourism, Dr. Mohammad Tanveer; Tehsildar Surankote, Sheraz Ahmed; Chief Medical Officer, G.A. Malik; BDO Surankote, Amir Chowdhary, besides all concerned officers were present.
During the Block Diwas, locals raised various issues of their areas seeking augmentation of water and power supply, Medicare facility, Potha Surankote bypass circular road, Bufliaz road etc and other issues related to day to day life.
The DDC, after listening to the issues and demands, gave on the spot direction to the concerned departments for early redress of the same. He assured the locals that all their genuine grievances will be resolved in a time bound manner.
The DC held also deliberation on the issue of illegal mining at various places on Suran-river. The DC directed the Sub-division civil and police administration to conduct regular inspections to check the illegal mining. He asked for activating the team constituted for this purpose.
The DDC also reviewed the functioning of health department particularly regarding the COVID-Vaccination.
The achievement of Aadhar seeding by rural development and social welfare department and the work of PHE and PWB were also reviewed.
With respect to the land acquisition for the BRO/GREF projects, the DDC directed SDM and Tehsildar Surankote to complete the process for the same. He also asked for starting land acquisition for the widening of NH144 from Jaranwali Gali to Lassana.
The issues related to PHC Dandidhara, PHC Jaranwali Gali and AMT School Bela Surankote were also discussed. The DC gave slew of direction to the concerned departments for further action.
