Weekly Block Diwas: DC Kathua listens to people’s grievances at Billawar

KATHUA: District Administration Kathua today convened weekly Block Diwas proceedings here at block headquarters Billawar.

The proceedings were presided over by District Development Commissioner, Om Prakash who listened to the issues and grievances of the people during the daylong event.

On the occasion, deputation of people including PRI members and locals apprised the DDC about their demands. They sought delegation of powers to ADC Billawar for renewal of gun license, provision of electricity poles for uncovered habitations, toilet complex near Shiv Mandir, repair of road links viz Billawar – Machhedi, Billawar-Dhar Dugnoo etc.

After giving patient hearing, the DDC gave on the spot directions to the concerned departments for early redress of   the problems highlighted by the people. He assured the public that all their genuine grievances will be resolved in a time bound manner.  

The DDC also held a review of registered grievances of the people taken up during the earlier editions of the Block Diwas proceedings. He directed the concerned department to ensure disposal of issues before the next Block Diwas and submit the status report to the Deputy Commissioner office.

Similar proceedings were held at designated places of the district including Bani, Basohli and Hiranagar.
