SRINAGAR: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday said that BJP and its government in center has taken a major and much needed U-turn on Kashmir policy after telling nation and world  for four years that ‘Hurriyat is irrelevant.’

Omar made the comments while reacting to BJP’s nation spokesperson Ram Madhav’s statement that ‘New Delhi is willing to talk to Hurriyat.’

“After spending the last 4 years telling the nation & the world how the Hurriyat was irrelevant in Kashmir now the BJP & it’s Government has made a major & much needed U-turn,” Omar wrote on his micro-blogging site Twitter.

Earlier today, Madhav, who is considered as New Delhi’s point man in Jammu and Kashmir, said that New Delhi has made arrangements to hold dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir, including separatists.
