AWANTIPORA: Police in Awantipora in its recent action against drug peddlers has arrested one person for drug supply offences and recovered a contraband substance from his possession.
Officers at the checkpoint near Galandar Pampore arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Riyaz Gojar son of Abdul Hussain Gojar resident of Leera Rajouri. Police have recovered 1.9 kg of Charas from his possession. Riyaz has been taken to Police Station Pampore where he remains in custody.
Police has registered a case FIR No 16/2019 under relevant sections of law and initiated investigation in the matter.
