KUPWARA1: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the arrangements in view of the ensuing month of Ramadan in Sub Division Handwara.
On the occasion, the ADC impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure availability of essential commodities to the people in the sub division during the holy month of Ramadan. The officers were directed to intensify the market checking to curb the black marketing, artificial scarcity and profiteering in the markets of Handwara, Langate, Zachaldara, Qalamabad and Kralgund besides other main markets.
He also exhorted upon the Municipal Committee Handwara for ensuring cleanliness and sanitation around the main mosques in the sub division.
The ADC directed the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply especially during sehri and iftar timing to facilitate people during the Ramadan month.
The Transport President of Handwara was directed to ensure availability of transport facilities on all routes of the sub division. Other officers were also directed to ensure required facilities for the general public of the Sub division Handwara.
Such meetings were also held at Karnah and Lolab Subdivision where concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates presided over the meetings and constituted the market checking squads to ensure price line and availability of essential commodities during the holy month.
