JAMMU: IIM Jammu today observed Ambedkar Jayanti with patriotic fervor marking the 132nd birth anniversary of the Father of the Indian Constitution, Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu; Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics; Cmdr. Kesavan Baskkaran; Chief Administrative Officer, Shri Shailesh Lohiya; Librarian, faculty, officers, staff, and students of IIM Jammu offered floral tributes to Dr. B.R Ambedkar on his 132nd birth anniversary.
Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director, IIM Jammu termed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the real architect of the Indian Constitution. He reiterated that Baba Saheb was the epitome of social equality who worked for welfare of all sections of society. “He led millions of the oppressed to a life of self-respect, dignity, and responsibility and showed them a path that not only led to their development but also the development of India” he added.
Prof. Jabir Ali, Dean Academics mentioned Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was a great statesman and a unifying force for being the head of the constitution drafting committee. He also stressed that Dr. Ambedkar is a great inspiration for all of us as he teaches us how to live for the people and how to dedicate life to the upliftment of the underprivileged and stay committed to unity in society.
The IPM second batch students gave a PowerPoint presentation on the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar along with patriotic songs sung in many regional languages ranging from Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, etc. During the program, all the faculty, officers, staff, and student members spoke about Dr. B.R Ambedkar and his extensive contribution to the nation.
