Bhatnagar reviews progress on land allocation for newly established Colleges

JAMMU: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today chaired a meeting to review the progress on allocation of land for the newly established degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir at Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was attended by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Sharma; Commissioner Secretary Higher Education Department (HED), Talat Parvez Rohella; Vice Chairman JDA, Babila Rakhwal; Director Colleges, Prof. M.Y Peerzada, Principals of newly established colleges and other concerned officials while as Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Budgam and Kupwara districts participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar directed the officials to devise a proper plan of action for the newly established degree colleges so that the land can be acquired at the earliest and the required construction activities can be started.

The Advisor also directed the Deputy Commissioners and other officials to resolve all the issues related to land acquisition cases by 10th of February.

The Advisor asked the Commissioner Secretary to expedite the process of building infrastructure of quality level at the newly established degree colleges and directed him to monitor the progress on regular basis.

Advisor Bhatnagar further asked Director Colleges to personally visit those sites which are facing hurdles in land acquisition process.
