ADC Bandipora inspects newly declared Micro Containment Zone’ in Gamroo Village

Calls for strict perimeter control, 100% sampling of the population

BANDIPORA: Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir on Wednesday inspected the Fazli-Mohallah locality of Gamroo village which was declared as  ‘Micro Containment Zone’ after 10 positive cases were reported from this locality .

ADC who was accompanied by BMO Bandipora Dr Masarat, Tehsildar Bandipora, DIO Bandipora Jahangeer Akhoon and other senior health officers, inspected the covid containment measures being implemented. 

On the occasion, Mir said, “there shall be strict perimeter control within 100 meters of the said area in a bid to contain further disease spread”.  He said after the detection of cases it became imperative to initiate necessary measures under Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 and Disaster Management Act, 2005 for immediate prevention of spread of the virus and for the safety of  human lives.

He said  a vigorous and extensive contact tracing of all the fresh reported positive cases have been initiated and 100%  testing of all such contacts besides other residents shall be conducted. 

Sampling of service providers, co-morbids and other vulnerable persons shall also be ensured as per the guidelines, he told concerned. 

ADC  urged people to strictly follow covid guidelines and said the Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and SOPs are vital to prevent spike in infections besides cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay.

He appealed to the people not to lower guard and asked them to follow guidelines so that administration is not forced to take action against violators. He said the general public can report the violation of SOPs to the controlled rooms so that action can be taken against violators.
