ADC Anantnag inspects CTC, Lower Munda

More than 3600 tests done so far at the centre

ANANTNAG: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh today visited Covid-19 Testing Centre (CTC) Lower Munda and took stock of its functioning.

During the visit, the ADC enquired from the officials about the status and details of the covid sampling being done there.

SDM, Dooru, Gh Rasool Wani who is also Nodal Officer for the said centre informed the ADC that the centre has 08 functional Testing Kiosks where more than 3600 Rapid Antigen Tests of the travellers, truckers etc have been conducted so far.

He further informed the necessary augmentations are being taken to fully cater to the requirement.

The ADC directed the concerned officials to ensure smooth testing of travelers and truckers etc besides ensure provision of all basic facilities at the centre.

He also directed the police and traffic authorities to take appropriate measures for smooth traffic movement near the site.

BMO Qazigund, officials of police and other concerned departments were also present on the occasion.

Pertinently, the testing centre was made functional on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla as a proactive and deterrent measure to tackle the surge of Covid-19 cases during the 2nd wave.

The centre has been doing the testing operations smoothly and the DC is monitoring its functioning on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, the DC appealed to the general public to strictly adhere to the Covid guidelines and cooperate with the administration to combat the fresh Pandemic wave.

He also warned of strict legal action against the violators of Covid-19 SOPs.
