Admitted to a Chennai hospital, Vijayalakshmi had recently hit the headlines for launching a tirade against the alleged bullying and torture by Seeman, an actor-turned-politician, and his party.

Before her alleged suicide attempt, the actress uploaded a video on social media in which she is purportedly heard saying that she was “under tremendous stress following torture by Seeman and his party activists for the past four months.

She alleges in the video about the recent humiliation in the media by Hari Nadar, attributing her survival over the period to the support she got from her mother and sister.
