911 samples tested between March 9 to April 1 in J&K, Nine patients discharged from SKIMS, CD hospital

SRINAGAR: Thirteen more cases tested positive for novel Caronavirus on Saturday taking the total number of positive cases to 341 in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.

Government spokesman, Rohit Kansal in his tweet said that 13 more cases have been tested positive in  Kashmir  saying that with fresh cases detected today, the number of cases in Kashmir has mounted to 287 while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division is 54.

“No new cases from Jammu Division, 13 from Kashmir; Total positive cases now 341 (54 Jammu and 287 Kashmir). Further details in daily media bulletin,” Kansal tweeted.

Dr G H Yatoo Nodal officer for Covid- 19 at SKIMS told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that 6 samples were tested positive at SKIMS on Saturday among them 5 are from Bandipora and one from  Beerwah Budgam. “Four patients whose repeated tests turned negative were discharged from the hospital,” he said, adding that among them three are from Srinagar while as one is from Budgam

Doctors at the Institute told KNO that till date 3118 samples were tested at SKIMS lab, out of 3118, the number of samples tested negative are 2693 while as number of samples tested positive are 181 and reports of 244 samples are under process. 

Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar Dr Salim Khan told KNO that in last twenty four hours 324 samples were tested at Chest Disease Lab. 

Out of 324 samples, seven were tested positive among them five are from Shopian and two from Anantnag, he said adding that 137 samples were received on Saturday, out of 137, 96 are under process. Pertinently in last two days 941 samples were tested at chest Disease hospital Lab.

From  March 9 to April 1 only 911 samples were tested in whole Jammu and Kashmir and in last two days 941 samples were tested at CD hospital only. 

“941 COVID samples tested at Microbiology Lab CD Hospital Srinagar in just last 48 hours. Isn’t it incredible performance,” tweeted Dr Salim Khan

Officials from Shopian said that among five, four are men and one woman who are residents of Herpora Shopian and contacts of already positive patients. Officials from Anantnag said that two positive patients are contacts of the already positive patient from Shangus area of the district while as officials from Budgam said the new positive patient is uncle of cop who was tested positive two days before. 

Dr Tabasum, deputy medical superintendent at JLNM hospital Srinagar told KNO that 30 patients are undergoing treatment at the hospital and no new patient was added to the hospital in last 24 hours. Doctors at CD hospital said that five patients including three from Budgam and two from Srinagar were discharged on Saturday after their complete recovery.

“Five more covid patients recovered and discharged,” Tweeted HOD chest disease hospital Dr Naveed shah.

As per officials figures 78 positive cases including one death and 12 recoveries are from Srinagar, 80 including eleven recoveries and one death are from Bandipora, 42 including two deaths are from Baramulla, 13 including seven recoveries from Budgam, 3 from Pulwama including one recovery, 22 from Shopian including two recoveries, 27 from Kupwara, 14 from Ganderbal, 5 from Kulgam and 3 from Anantnag in Kashmir division. 

In Jammu division, 26 including four recoveries are from Jammu district , 20 including one death and five recoveries are from Udhampur, 4  from Samba and 3 from Rajouri all recovered and one from Kishtiwar who has also recovered. 

As per the daily information bulletin 60,419 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 6071 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 285 persons are in hospital isolation while as 252 persons are under hospital quarantine. 

According to the bulletin, 23,114 persons have completed surveillance period and 25,692 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 6,937 samples are available. 

Out of 6,937 the number of samples tested negative stands at 6,596 while as 341 have been tested positive, among them 285 are active and 51 persons have recovered and 5 persons have died.
