19 persons injured in Rajouri highway accident

Rajouri: At least nineteen passengers were injured in a head-on collision between a tipper and a passenger bus in Lamberi village of Nowshera on Jammu-Rajouri highway on Tuesday.

Reports said a bus bearing registration number: JK02AK 3047 on way from Jammu to Rajouri had a head-on collision with a tipper bearing registration number: JK11 4957 coming from opposite direction at Lamberi village.

Due to the impact of collision, the bus skidded off the road and plunged into a roadside field from a height of around 80 feet.

More than twenty passengers got injured from which nineteen were shifted to a hospital while others were given first aid at the spot.

The injured including Mamta Devi, Nishi Sharma, Harshit Sharma, Shahila Begum, Mohd Iqbal, Zareena Begum, and Mohd Iqbal was taken to Sub District Hospital Sunderbani from where three injured namely Mamta Sharma, Zareena Begum, and Mohd Iqbal were referred to GMCH Jammu.

Other twelve injured shifted to SDH Nowshera included Amit Kumar, Sahil Kumar, Saleem Chowdhary, Sewa Ram, Mukhtar Ahmed, Mamta Devi, Nishi Devi, Harshit Sharma, Sehalya Begum, Mohd Iqbal, Zarina Begum, and Mohd Iqbal.

Police have also taken cognizance of the matter.
