15 people in contact with deceased COVID-19 patient put in quarantine

ANANTNAG: At least 15 people who were suspected of being in contact with COVID-19 patient who died in Srinagar on Thursday morning were quarantined at two different places in Anantnag and Kulgam districts.

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Nodal Officer South Kashmir, Dr Aashiq Hussain said there were apprehensions that more people had come in contact with the positive cases. “They are being traced and will be sent to quarantine centres and will be screened,” he said.

A team of doctors visited many places in Anantnag and Kulgam and collected details about the suspected persons. The team has identified more than 14 people who have come into contact with the COVID19 infected patient (now deceased), he said.

Dr Aashiq said the health department is in touch with the authorities in other places visited by him to enable the tracking of people who would have come in contact with him.

Meanwhile, Additional District Magistrate Anantnag Syed Yasir wrote on Facebook: “The suspect from Marhama Bijbehara who was in contact with the deceased COVID patient has been put in a quarantine facility. Already completed 13 days without developing any symptoms. Let us rest this case. Enquiry into the issue of any dereliction is underway.”
