RAMBAN: Amid apprehensions of 3rd wave of Covid-19, a good news is coming from Ramban, where 100% first Covid vaccination dose coverage of adults has been achieved, even as 45 percent of them have taken both the doses.
Chief Medical Officer, Ramban, Dr. Mohammad Freed Bhat informed that total 311883 Covid-19 vaccination doses including 2,15, 180 as first dose have been administered to people in 18+ age group, while about 97000 adult people have taken both the doses.
He further informed that they are nearing 100% coverage of 2nd vaccination doses in 45+ category, front line workers and health care workers. He informed that administration has also intensified Covid testing to track, trace and treat covid patients to prevent spread of infection.
“We have conducted door to door vaccination drives across the district besides vaccinating the many people during evening hours, who are not available in homes in day time. “Our teams also held special sessions to administer the second dose to teachers, Students, Pregnant and Lactating mothers across the district” informed the CMO.
While congratulating the vaccination teams which include health workers and other officials deputed on COVID management jobs, the DC said that “Ramban has achieved 100% vaccination of above 18 years age group despite facing different challenges. It will help in averting the 3rd wave of Covid-19 besides saving the precious human lives in this pandemic,” he added.
