Srinagar: Asking for nothing but his son to be back home, the mother of Ahtisham Bilal appeals the government as well the people to help them trace their son who has gone missing since last Sunday, leaving them in panic.
In a video message, the mother of the Ahtisham said that she wants her son to come back home safe as soon as possible. “Son please come back to me if you have gone somewhere, and if someone has taken my son please send him back to me. He is my everything,” she said.
Ahtisham Bilal, a resident of Khaniyar of district Srinagar, pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree at Sharda University who was allegedly beaten up by a group of students earlier this month, has gone missing since Sunday. Since then he has not contacted his family members.
In the first week of October, Ahtisham was speciously beaten up by a group of students at Sharda University who were demanding eviction of Afghani students because of the clashes going between the local students and some Afghani students from several days in which he suffered minor injuries.
While appealing his mother mentioned that if her son is caught up by anyone, she request them to release her son immediately as he’s the only child in our family.
His father, Bilal Ahmad Sofi said that Ahtisham had called him on Sunday morning saying he was on his way to Delhi from Noida, “In the evening, Ahtisham told me he is on way back to the university hostel.”
According to his family members, that they have registered a missing report at local police station in Delhi and the police has claimed that the last location of Ahtisham was traced in Jammu.
He further said that the university authorities have also started searching for his son.
“We don’t know where he is gone. We all are worried about him,” he said. “Ahtisham didn’t step out from the university since he was thrashed by the students,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Former Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday evening taking on twitter appealed Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh to direct authorities to track the missing Kashmiri student at the earliest.
