Chairs Block Diwas at Checkiwangund, Hiller
ANANTNAG: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, S F Hamid today presided over the Block Diwas event held at Checkiwangund village in the Hiller block.
The event was attended by members of the Hiller block, PRIs, and the general public who shared their suggestions and demands related to various schemes for the development of the area.
The DDC assured the gathering that the District Administration is committed to addressing the issues of the general public. He appreciated the mass participation and positive response of the people, which he said highlights the importance of Block Diwas.
He gave on-the-spot directions to concerned departments for the redressal of issues raised during the event. He also directed the concerned officers to conduct village level awareness camps (VLACs) regarding employment generation schemes, horticulture and agricultural-related schemes, and other UT and central sponsored schemes.
The DDC emphasized the need for technical guidance to orchardists and agriculturists by the concerned officers. He further directed for departmental coordination and cooperation for the early redressal of the genuine demands of the public.
The event was turned into an interactive and participatory event, and the DDC thanked the people for their participation.
Later, the DDC visited many ongoing works of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
