Udhampur Admin begins week-long celebrations to mark 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram

UDHAMPUR: The District Administration Udhampur under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai, started the week long celebration events to mark 150th centenary celebration of National Song Vande Mataram.

In this connection, a mega programme was organized in the Conference Hall of the DC office Complex, featuring live streaming of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address and the inauguration of the year-long celebration.

The event was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure; Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore; Additional Deputy Commissioner Prem Singh and other officers, prominent citizens, staff and students of various educational institutions.

The DC expressed gratitude to all participants and informed that a variety of activities and programmes will be organized during the first phase of the week-long celebrations across the district to raise awareness about different government schemes.

The DC stated that the celebration of the National Song 150-year legacy stands as a tribute to India’s rich cultural heritage and the spirit of patriotism that unites the nation.

Emphasizing inclusivity, she said that the celebrations would reflect the diversity, unity and cultural vibrancy of Udhampur, ensuring that every citizen feels connected to the spirit of the event. The DC urged all stakeholders to actively participate in the week-long commemoration so that the celebrations become a true reflection of India’s unity, diversity and enduring national spirit.

Earlier, Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School, Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth, Sr Secondary School and NITL Higher Secondary School recited the National Song Vande Mataram.
