Training /Awareness programme on Food Safety Training & Certification held at Shopian

SHOPIAN: A daylong Training cum Awareness programme on Food Safety Training and Certification was held today at Town Hall, Shopian. 

The training programme was conducted by Sanchay Education Society and Supported by Food & Drug Administration J&K district Shopian under the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act 2006.

 The Training cum Awareness programme was presided over by Assistant Commissioner, Revenue Shopian, Shahbaz Ahmed Boda.

Speaking on the occasion, ACR said that food business operators (FBOs) should maintain and ensure good quality food and hygiene practices including personal hygiene and hygiene of the food chain from farm to plate.

He stressed the FBOs to keep the infrastructure and surroundings clean and disseminate messages door-to-door to use good food and limit consumption of high-fat, sugar and salt foods. He also asked them to strictly adhere to the norms of the Food and Safety Act and warned of strict action if found violating the essential guidelines of the Act.

Assistant Commissioner, Food Safety, Gh Qadir; Master Trainer;  Nodal Officer, State Sanchay Education Society; Food Safety Officer, Food & Drug Administration Shopian; District Nodal Officer, Sanchay Education Society, besides business operators in large number dealing with Bakery manufacturing, Restaurants  participated in the said Training Programme.

Detailed presentation was made by the Master Trainer regarding good manufacturing and hygiene practices to be followed during the manufacturing and food processing. 

The Business Operators were also informed that they should always remain in close contact with Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for necessary guidelines and certifications to make the said business more significant.
