Tourism Deptt organises day long COVID awareness camp at Doodhpathri

BUDGAM: Tourism Department along with district administration Budgam organised a day long awareness camp on COVID-19 for ponywallas and other tourism stakeholders at Doodpathri here.

Addressing on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Budgam/CEO, Doodpathri Development Authority, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone asked the stakeholders to undergo COVID vaccination programme so that tourissts can come without any fear. He  impressed upon them the need to keep the surroundings of this picturesque place dirt free.

In her address, Joint Director, Tourism, Tabassum Kamili said the Department has launched a massive vaccination drive across Kashmir among the tourism stakeholders and so far around 80% of stakeholders have been inoculated. She appealed all tourism stakeholders to get themselves vaccinated so as to start a safe, responsible and confident tourist season once again.

On the occasion, the tourism unit holders were made aware about the importance of getting registered with the Department for carrying out fair trade activities. Officers explained to them the requirements and formalities to be completed for getting registered with the Department as mandated under J&K Registration of Tourist Trade Act.

The awareness camp was attended by Sub Divisional Magistrate, Khansahib and Beerwa, Deputy Director, Tourism (Registration & Publicity), Tehsildar, Khansahib, Tourist Officer, Doodpathri, other officers and a large number of ponywallas and other tourism stakeholders.
